Irini Harterou – Kaouraki is a retired bookbinder. She was born in Rhodes in 1940. Her mother came from Kastellorizo and her father from Koskinou. His name was Vasilios Kaourakis and he worked at the National Printing Office of Rhodes. She lived in the old city and, while still a student, was a member of the Annunciation church choir.
